RI Mobile Overview

RI Mobile is an interactive mobile application that provides an interface to display RI scores, trends, and configurable warnings and notifications for selected groups of patients within the hospital. RI Mobile reads and writes data directly to and from the RI Server database. Designed for mobile clinicians, RI Mobile functionality also allows end-users to document both pre-defined interventions and free text notes that are stored in RI Server and accessible through the user interface within RI Mobile.

Within the RI Mobile application, end users can interact with the following views:

Patient List: Rolling list of individual patient rows are displayed with any current warning severity information, patient details, and most recent RI score calculated. End-Users can define the patient population that populates this list via the Filters Menu. End-users can open this page by selecting the "notepad/pencil" icon located in the footer navigation bar.

Watchlist: A personal list of patients displayed in patient rows that the end user has manually added patients for further monitoring. End-users can open this page by selecting the "eye" icon located in the footer in the footer navigation bar.

Warinings: List of patient rows for patients within the user's assignment that have experienced a deterioration in warning state. Patients appear in this list when an active warning state change must have occurred up to two hours prior to user sign in or occured while the end user is logged into the application. In addition, if configured, these notifications will be pushed to the end user using the RI Mobile application notifications functionality.

Detailed Single Patient View: An individual patient RI Score graph over time with more specific detailed patient information. In addition, can access the most recent clinical data affecting the RI Score and a history of all warning notifications and documented interventions.

Reference Guide for Application Icons

Application Header

Each screen within the application will have a header containing the screen’s title and other pertinent information. A count bubble will display next to the screen title, providing a total count of patients/warnings listed for the screen in current view. The count will automatically update as patients/warnings are added to and removed from the lists. The following functions are located to the right of the count bubble:

  • Filter Menu
  • Patient Search
  • User Profile Menu

User Profile

Tapping the User Profile Menu icon will present a drop-down menu containing an 'About' section as well as an option to sign out of the application. To exit the User Profile Menu without executing any action, tap the 'X' button in the application header.

About

The 'About' section will detail the following application and user information:

  • Product Name
  • Username of Signed-in User
  • Installed Product Version
  • Vendor UDI Number

IOS Devices Only

iOS devices will display the current 'Customer ID' and 'Environment' that the user is connected to. End users may need to change the 'Environment' to support testing changes prior to being deployed to production. To make changes, the user may update either field and then click the 'Save and Sign Out’ button on the bottom of the screen to apply the changes. The user will be returned to the Log In page. There should be no reason for users to change the 'Customer ID' once set.

Sign Out

Signing out will log an end user out of the Mobile application and halt the sending of warning notifications to the mobile device until the end user signs back into the application. Upon sign out, the end user is returned to the login screen.

Session Timeout

Your organization will set up a specific amount of time that allows the end user to stay logged in to the application, typically configured for once a shift. Once this time expires, a message will appear stating “Your session has expired. Please log in again.” The user will be required to log in with their user credentials in order to get back into the application. Once this auto-logout occurs, the application will no longer be active and push notifications will not be generated to the device until the user logs back in. For more information on the exact time frame, please contact your system administrator.
