The intent for testing is to validate the technical pieces for the project. This includes phone number forwarding and configurations.

SnS: Testing Requirements and Steps

Duration: Approx. 30 Minutes

Prerequisites for Testing:  

First, the tele-communication task must be completed within the project (See link if necessary): Voice Communications Requirements

  • 1 Staff Member to be the Caregiver (Can be anyone to assist in testing)
  • 1 Staff Member to be the Monitor Technician (If the testing/roll out is for a Centrally Monitored Location. This can be fulfilled via the SafeNSound member on the phone)
    • If a local resource would like to fill as the Monitor Tech role, please have another workstation or PC available as well as access.
      • If another team member is selected to be a Monitor Technician the PC must have an available & connected headset that is configured for default Input/Output audio selections within Windows.
  • A test Patient already in the system (can be manually created by SnS, or scanned in)
    • If scanned in, please confirm a test patient is in the ADT feed
  • Staff Assignment completed by associating the patient with a caregiver, and phone #
    • Setup a Secondary Caregiver, or desk phone as well

What You Can Do

Step 1.

Sending Quick Messages - Monitor Tech User

  • Log into SafeNSound as a Monitor Technician 
  • Select Patient
  • Select Care Team Tab
    • Notice the assigned Primary Contact as well as the Secondary Contact or Desk Phone
  • Select any of the 6 available Quick Messages

Step 2.

Accepting a Quick Message - Caregiver User

  • Answer the call
  • Listen to the message in its entirety to confirm options for Declining, Repeating, or Contacting Central Monitoring
    • Hang up the call (this will auto-accept the message and send a notification to the Monitor Technician)

 

Step 3.

Confirm the Message was Accepted / Repeat - Monitor Tech User

  • Notice the notification popup, as well as the notification in the Activity Feed
  • Send another Quick Message

 

Step 4.

Decline, Decline, Accept - Caregiver User

  • Answer the call
  • When prompted, press 2 to decline
    • This will automatically send the same Quick Message to the Secondary Contact, or Desk Phone
  • Do not answer this call, instead let it roll through
  • The call should be back to the Primary Contact
    • Answer then disconnect the call
      • The result: Decline, auto-communicate to the next Contact, Decline, auto-communicate to the next Contact, Accept.

Step 5.

Confirm the Notifications are accurate - Monitor Tech User

  • Notice the notification popups, as well as the notifications in the Activity Feed
  • Decline, Decline, Accept 

 

Step 6.

Send a Quick Message - Monitor Tech User

  • Choose any of the 6 Quick Message options

Step 7.

Replay Message & Connect to Central Monitoring - Caregiver User

  • Answer the call
  • Listen to the message and respond by pressing 3 to repeat
    • Confirm repeat functionality
  • Listen to the message and respond by pressing 4 to connect with Central Monitoring
    • Confirm the call returns to the original sender 
      • This will connect the Caregivers phone, with the Central Monitoring unit for a phone call. Please stay on the line while it connects. 
        • Confirms phone functionality (VoIP) if the caregiver and Monitor Technician can hear one another

Validation via Testing:

  • Confirming firewall pass-through or the media connections
  • Confirms devices react to button presses
  • Confirms Quick Message fail-over to additional caregivers
  • Confirms accurate logging of the notifications
