To setup the mobile application

  1. Download the free app from your device’s app store: Spacelabs SafeNSound.
  2. Connect to your facility’s Wi-Fi or secure VPN, if provided (contact your IT Help Desk if you need assistance).
  3. Select Production.
  4. Enter your organization’s unique 4-digit system ID, provided by Spacelabs SafeNSound.
  5. Enter your organization’s network login for the SafeNSound username and password.
  6. Create a 6-digit pin for the SafeNSound app and toggle on Face ID, if available on your device.

App Navigation

  1. Click the 3-bar menu icon in the upper left corner of the application > Patients > (Your Specific Unit).
  2. Select a patient and scroll through page options along the top:
    • Overview - Last vitals, pending saved events, temporary locations, 24-hour HR histogram, 24-hour SpO2 histogram.
    • Vitals - Graph of all measured vitals.
    • Waveforms - 14 days retrospective ECG, Respiratory, and SpO2 waveforms.
    • Saved Events - All saved 6-second strips.
    • Alarms - All past alarm events.
    • Timeline - Alarms, activities, temporary locations.
    • Caregivers - Primary and secondary staff caring for the patient.
    • Live View - Near real-time view of 2 ECG leads, respiratory wave, and SpO2 wave, with current vitals above.

  • Dashboard Swipe Widget - Added feature allowing users to swipe left on a patient's name from the Dashboard and easily access Locations, Live View, and Quick Links.

  • Critical Alerts Banner - A red banner is now displayed on the Dashboard to alert users when Critical Alerts are not enabled, allowing the user to enable in settings by clicking the banner. 

                                               

  • Critical Alerts Override - Allows iOS Critical Notification to override Do Not Disturb feature.

                                             

 

Admitting Patient

  1. Select the Bedside Module located in the bottom right corner 
    1. Select the Barcode icon to begin Scanning the Device
    2. Select the Barcode icon to begin Scanning the Patient ID Band
    3. Confirm the Bed field is populated, and correct
    4. Optionally, select a Monitoring Type
    5. Click 'Associate Device'

Note: 

If the device you are assigning to a patient, is a telemetry transceiver or a bedside monitor in a location that is assisted by a Monitor Technician this will require the Monitor Tech testing user to interact and accept the notification. 

Discharging Patient 

  1. Select the Bedside Module located in the bottom right corner.
  2. Select the Barcode icon to begin Scanning the Device.
  3. Click 'Disassociate Device'.

Note: 

If the device you are dissociating from a patient, is a telemetry transceiver or a bedside monitor in a location that is assisted by a Monitor Technician this will require the Monitor Tech testing user to interact and accept the notification. 

Messaging and Calls

Messages: The messages tab located when clicking on the three bars on the top left hand corner of the screen, allows for the user to connect with staff through text messaging through the SafeNSound app. 

Phone: The phone tab located when clicking on the three bars on the top left hand corner of the screen or the top right hand corner of the screen, allows for the user to connect with staff through call using the SafeNSound app.
