SafeNSound Overview

Introduction-1.gif
  • Improper installation and configuration of SafeNSound can result in intermittent loss of data or improper data displayed. Obey installation and deployment guidelines provided in the deployment and service manuals.
  • Alarm conditions must be set to ON for an alarm notification to be recorded within Spacelabs SafeNSound. These can be enabled at the bedside monitor, a remote bedside monitor, or at the central station.

Spacelabs SafeNSound™ is a hosted web application that connects with local patient monitoring systems to obtain, evaluate, and store valid alarm signals for reporting and analysis purposes.

SafeNSound records and stores patient alarm data collected from Spacelabs Healthcare bedside monitors and telemetry transmitters.

SafeNSound uses the Spacelabs Healthcare XprezzNet network interface to retrieve alarm information from the patient monitors and telemetry transmitters. A site-to-site connection to the SafeNSound-hosted application provides alarm and vital sign data for storage and retrieval. A secure cloud-hosted reporting engine aggregates and presents reports across facilities and departments as needed.

SafeNSound provides a review and analysis of the alarm frequency by date and time ranges, facility, department, monitor type, and/or parameter combinations.

Other features included:

  • Real-time reports on communications and throughput management,
  • Detailed retrospective information on patient events.
  • Bedside caregivers and monitor technicians can take advantage of automated communications.
  • Admit-Discharge-Transfer (ADT) capabilities for associating and dissociating a device to a patient.
