Warnings List
Received warnings are reviewed and managed via the Warnings screen, accessible by tapping the Warnings’ “bell” icon in the footer navigation menu. A red count bubble of unread warnings is visible next to the “bell” icon in the footer menu. The count automatically updates as new warnings are received and warning statuses change.
The Warnings screen displays the patient cards mimicking all the encounter specific details from the Patients screen for all warning state deteriorations that occurred within the user’s selected assignment (facilities and units) up to 2 hours prior to their session login. The end user can access a patient's detailed Patient Specific View by tapping on the patient's card.
The Warnings list is sorted chronologically with the most recent warning at the top and oldest at the bottom. Unread warnings will be grouped at the top of the list and are denoted with a light blue shading and a triangular warning icon. A dark blue border will display along the bottom of the last unread warning to signify the end of unread warnings and the start of warnings that have been reviewed and have a “read” status. Once a warning is marked as “read,” the patient’s card will turn white, the warning icon is removed, and the card will drop to the read section of the list. If two warnings have the exact same date/time stamp, the higher warning severity prevails and will be listed first.
Tapping the 'Mark As Read" button will mark all unread notifications as 'read' at the same time.
Explanation of Warning Statuses
A warning can have one of the following three statuses:
- Unread: Warning has not been reviewed and/or the user has yet to take any action.
- Read: User has acknowledged the warning and taken action either by viewing the patient's details via the Patient Specific View screen or utilized the "Mark as read" button.
- Accessing the Patient Specific View from the "Patients", "Warnings", or "Watchlist" screens as well as from an in-app or out-of-app notification, will mark the warning as "read".
- Dismissed: User has manually removed a warning(s) from the list via the "dismiss" option. The warning(s) is marked as dismissed and stored in the database for reporting purposes.
Dismiss a warning
The dismiss option is accessed by executing a right swipe on a patient’s card in the Warnings list. A “Swipe to dismiss” message will appear, notifying user of action that is about to take place. Completing the full right swipe will remove the warning(s) from the list.
A message will appear advising the total number of warnings that have been dismissed, with an option to “undo”. Selecting the “undo” option will restore the warning(s) to the list. Releasing the patient card without completing a full swipe will retain the warning(s) on the list.
A warning is automatically removed from the Warnings list when the warning expires, the visit is discharged, or the warning is updated, and the old warning is no longer valid/current. Patients can be added and/or removed from a user’s Watchlist by swiping left on a patient’s card, and then selecting the presented option to “Add to Watchlist” or “Remove from Watchlist.” For more information, please refer to the “Watchlist” section.
