Header Menu
Each screen within the application will have a header containing the screen’s title and other pertinent information. A count bubble will display next to the screen title, providing a total count of patients/warnings listed for the screen in current view. The count will automatically update as patients/warnings are added to and removed from the lists. The following functions are located to the right of the count bubble:
- Filter Menu
- Patient Search
- User Profile Menu
Filter Menu
The “Patients” and “Warnings” screens can be filtered to only display patients based on a user’s specific daily assignment. To start the assignment configuration process, the Filter menu is selected from the header. Filter categories can be expanded/collapsed via the arrows. Assignment configuration will filter the “Patients” and “Warnings” screens for each signed-in user independently and enable the user to select their assignment based upon:
Assignment Selection - Hospital Floor: A multiselect option which displays patients that are located within specific floors configured for each hospital's organizational structure. If a hospital is selected, all of the associated floors will also be selected. If a hospital is deselected, all of the associated floors will also become unselected. All available active hospital and floor options are selected by default.
Note: Assignment selection will control the user's daily assignment. Any units or facilities not selected will not send warning notifications for those patients and will not appear in the Warnings List.
Warning Levels: A multiselect option which displays patients that meet the rule criteria for the selected warning severity
- Very High
- High
- Medium
- No Warning
All warning severity options are selected by default. This filter will only apply to the Patients List and does not apply to notifications.
Warnings Time Frame: Displays patients that have a warning state change that occured within the selected timeframe. This filter will only apply to the Patient List. The options that are available to select are:
- All Warnings (selected by default)
- 1 Hour
- 2 Hour
- 6 Hour
- 24 Hour
The filter categories can be used simultaneously or on a one-by-one basis. To clear the selected filters, tap the 'Reset to Default' button. Tapping 'Apply' will update the 'Patients' screen to display patients that meet the filter criteria selected. To exit without saving changes, tap the 'X' in the header.
Filter selections will persist through user sign out and session timeouts. Upon logging back into the application, any filter option(s) previously selected and applied will remain in place until the filter option(s) are cleared, updated, or the 'Reset to Default' option is selected.
Patient Search
The search bar is launched by tapping the “Search” icon in the header. The search function is activated once 3 characters have been entered into the search bar. Returned results will display for any database matches related to a patient’s first name, last name, patient ID or visit ID. The search results will update with each character entered into or deleted from the search bar.
Search results will return any patients that are available within the RI Mobile application and are not restricted to the user’s selected assignment or filters. Partial matches on patient’s first or last names may occur as the first few characters are entered into the search field, but results will become more exact as additional letters are entered. If a patient has more than 1 active visit, the patient will return in the search for both visits, with the most recent admit listed first. Selecting a patient from the list will open the patient’s details on the Patient Specific View screen.
To clear the text entered into the input field, tap the “x” within the search bar. To cancel a search and exit out of search mode, tap the “X” in the header.
Barcode Scanning
If enabled, clinicians may search for patients using the patient’s issued wrist barcode and the camera of the mobile device. To access the barcode scanner, select the “Search” icon in the application header. On the first search that is initiated, the device will request permission from the user to access the device’s camera on behalf of the application. This message will vary by hardware/software device.
Once camera access has been granted, the camera will enable. Center the barcode within the viewing window. Once scanned, the application will immediately enter the scanned contents into the search input and display any matching patients. Additional configuration can be applied to match the encoded barcode content with the format of the visit number/patient IDs stored in the application database.
If access to the device camera is denied an error message will appear. Once dismissed, clinicians may search for patients using the input field. Camera access can later be granted by changing settings within the device’s settings according to client device management policies.
User Profile Menu
Tapping the User Profile Menu icon will present a drop-down menu containing an 'About' section as well as an option to sign out of the application. To exit the User Profile Menu without executing any action, tap the 'X' button in the header.
About
The 'About' section will detail the following application and user information:
- Product Name
- Username of Signed-in User
- Installed Product Version
- Vendor UDI Number
IOS Devices Only
iOS devices will display the current 'Customer ID' and 'Environment' that the user is connected to. To make changes, the user may update either field and then click the 'Save and Sign Out’ button on the bottom of the screen to apply the changes. The user will be returned to the Log In page. There should be no reason for users to change the 'Customer ID' once set.
Sign Out
Signing out will log an end user out of the Mobile application and halt the sending of warning notifications to the mobile device until the end user signs back into the application. Upon sign out, the end user is returned to the login screen.
Session Timeout
Your organization will set up a specific amount of time that allows the end user to stay logged in to the application, typically configured for once a shift. Once this time expires, a message will appear stating “Your session has expired. Please log in again.” The user will be required to log in with their user credentials in order to get back into the application. Once this auto-logout occurs, the application will no longer be active and push notifications will not be generated to the device until the user logs back in. For more information on the exact time frame, please contact your system administrator.
