Getting Started
- Download the free app from your device’s app store: Spacelabs SafeNSound.
- Connect to your facility’s Wi-Fi or secure VPN, if provided (contact your IT Help Desk if you need assistance).
- Select Production.
- Enter your organization’s unique 4-digit system ID, provided by Spacelabs SafeNSound.
- Enter your organization’s network login for the SafeNSound username and password.
- Create a 6-digit pin for the SafeNSound app and toggle on Face ID, if available on your device.
Menu Navigation
Click the 3-bar menu icon in the upper left corner of the application.
- Select Dashboard, Patients, Phone, Profile, Log Out
Dashboard
The dashboard is the primary view and is used to manage patients, alarms, tasks, communication, and notes. Within the dashboard view, each patient’s detailed information can be accessed by clicking on the patient a single time.
My Numbers
My number displays the following numbers:
- Number of Assigned Patients as My Patients
- Number of Alarms for Review as Alarms
Smart Alarm Notifications
A red banner is now displayed on the Dashboard to alert users when Critical Alerts are not enabled, allowing the user to enable in settings by clicking the banner.
To view an alarm notification, select an alarm in the Alarms & Tasks area. Once selected, a window with your alarms will show.
- Select Accept to acknowledge the alarm and stop it from escalating.
- Select Decline to have the alarm escalate to another caregiver.
Admitting Patient
- Select the Bedside Module located in the bottom right corner
- Select the Barcode icon to begin Scanning the Device
- Select the Barcode icon to begin Scanning the Patient ID Band
- Confirm the Bed field is populated, and correct
- Optionally, select a Monitoring Type
- Click 'Associate Device'
Note: If the device you are assigning to a patient, is a telemetry transceiver or a bedside monitor in a location that is assisted by a Monitor Technician, this will require the Monitor Tech testing user to interact and accept the notification.
Discharging Patient
- Select the Bedside Module located in the bottom right corner.
- Select the Barcode icon to begin Scanning the Device.
- Click 'Disassociate Device'.
Note: If the device you are dissociating from a patient is a telemetry transceiver or a bedside monitor in a location that is assisted by a Monitor Technician this will require the Monitor Tech testing user to interact and accept the notification.
Location Updates
- Select the bedside icon.
- Select the location button
- Select the patient's temporary location or select New Bed - Select new bed if the patient is moving to a new room, but remains on the same monitoring device and the device is managed, the Monitor Technician receives a notification to transfer the patient on the central station to a new bed or zone.
When the patient returns to their bed, the user can access the Quick Links locations again to select End to the prompted question. The user can also hover over the location on the dashboard and click End when the patient is back in bed.
Calls
Phone: The phone tab located when clicking on the three bars on the top left hand corner of the screen or the top right hand corner of the screen, allows for the user to connect with staff through call using the SafeNSound app.
